This week, on and off, I've been watching
CreativeLive and I'm finding myself inspired by
Zack Arias' rags to 'being able to purchase tires' story. This gave me a photo challenge: traditional studio shots in my home. Although I'm really hoping to buy some fancy lighting equipment in the near future, in the meantime I have to make what I got work.... These shots were taken in my very, very small dining area with a small black blanket pinned to the wall. I used two off camera flashes, one with a shoot through umbrella (main light) and the other shooting through a shoot through disc set at low power just to separate the model from the background. Being that I shoot almost always outdoors, I'm pretty happy with these shots and think Hailey's mom will be too. :)
Just to give you an idea of how small I'm talking, here are a couple of images capturing this small little space:
I love shots like these because it proves that you don't have to have the most expensive gear to be a good photographer... just a passion and heart for it, and knowing how to utilize your resources. :)
