Welcome and thanks for visiting my blog, I'm Lynn and I love photography. Aside from photography, I'm a wife and mother to a handsome, hard working husband and wonderful son. Ever since I was a little girl I've always loved people, art, light, and playing dress up and that’s the reason I decided to take up photography; because it’s an art that combines all the things I've loved all my life.

Stylized Wedding Shoot | Old Sugar Mill Winery | Clarksburg, CA

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to shoot a stylized wedding shoot, planned and organized by Kissed by Tammynize - Wedding and Glamour Photographer.  If you haven't yet, be sure to check out the Behind the Scenes of a Stylized Shoot blog post.  The shoot took place at the Old Sugar Mill Winery in Clarksburg - gorgeous location!  What I loved most about this location is that it offered both bright + airy lit rooms as well as deep + moody lit spots.

It rained on and off quite a bit the day of the shoot, but that didn't stop the light from pouring through the broken walls and windows.  :)

Behind the Scenes of a Stylized Shoot | Old Sugar Mill | Clarksburg, California

A couple weeks ago, a photographer friend, Kissed by Tammynize Wedding + Glamour Photographer, invited me to a stylized shoot.  I feel completely blessed to be able to come along because I know how much blood, sweat and tears go into these shoots.  Tammy planned and organized every detail of this shoot from choosing the models, MUA, hairstylist, and venue to renting, purchasing and even creating every item you see in this shoot.  And I don't think she forgot about anything, she even had the cutest little sugarcubes.  I have to admit this is the first stylized shoot I've been to and I can't wait to plan my own.

Shots of the details...

You'd never know it by looking at the photos, but every planned shoot has something go wrong or sometimes even have an unexpected visitor show up...  We had a pretty creepy owl watching us almost the entire shoot.  This owl was not 'who-o-o-ing' either, it was clicking it's tongue and hissing.  The shot on the left shows just how close we were to this owl.

I loved this location!!  What is it about broken windows and torn down brick buildings that photographers love so much??

A few shots to give you an idea of what it's like to work with Tammy...

Stay tuned, next week I'll be sharing some of the images I was able to capture of the bride + groom at this amazing shoot!  :)

3rd Annual En Vogue Unique Fashion Show Fundraiser | May 20, 2011 | CARH

This past Friday, I attended the 3rd Annual En Vogue Unique Fashion Show Fundraiser put on by CARH, a local non-profit organization that assists local individuals with intellectual disabilities.  This fundraiser was all glitz and glam and the models for the fashion show were none other than the fabulous clients themselves.  Kudos to Elisabeth and Kari for organizing this successful event.

Backstage before the show was the perfect combination of excitement and nerves.

Some gorgeous raffled off jewelry by Stella and Dot.

I'm a little biased since my husband is a musician, but my favorite item of the night being auctioned off was this guitar signed by, yep...  The Rolling Stones.

There was some serious talent going on all in one place Friday night and included in the lineup was a Project Runway Designer competition.  Here's some shots of the designers with their fierce designs.

Sacramento Portrait Session | Rakhel Part III

I had such a great time visiting and shooting my sister, I'm a little sad that this is the last of her portrait session...  until the next session.  Be sure to check out part I and part II of Rocky's portrait session.  For the last look of the day, we decided to glam it up a little.  We curled her hair and added some accessories.  We shot all of these shots inside with one window, one off camera flash, and in some of the shots we added a little accent light.

Fourth Annual Tea Affaire May 7, 2011 | American Red Cross

This past Saturday I had the honor of photographing the Fourth Annual Tea Affaire. The Tea Affaire is a ladies mid-day tea held each spring in celebration of the time, talent and treasure of women who commit themselves in many ways to benefit others, and in particular, to those who are dedicated to the work of their local American Red Cross. The Tea is organized by the Capital Region Chapter's Legacy Circle Society and Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders.

The catering was done by Tea Eras, to check out their website click here.  The food was just as yummy as it looks!
